The Compass – Minister of Education Wajih Aweys said, on Wednesday, that the ministry has formed a committee of experts and specialists to develop a development plan for the Tawjihi exam, taking into account linking it to admission in universities in order to reach a form for the exam that raises its level and relieves psychological pressure on students and families, and rids the ministry of many challenges. that faces holding the exam and achieves the goals for which it was found.

Owais added that the ministry, as it seeks the development and reform process, sets its sights on implementing the continuous royal directives on following up the national strategy for human resource development that was launched as a road map for the years (2016-2025) and items related to upgrading the level of education in Jordan in its various stages, indicating that the ministry’s efforts focused on Implementation of these items according to the priorities listed in the plan.

This came during Dr. Owais chairing today the meeting of the Central Planning Committee and in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Ministry, Dr. Nawaf Al-Ajarmeh and Dr. Najwa Qabilat.
Dr. Owais stressed that the ministry is aware of the great need for development and improvement to improve the educational process in order to achieve a qualitative education that achieves justice in the distribution of educational services provided to students regardless of their place of residence, pointing to the need to get rid of concepts that do not befit the reputation of Jordanian education, such as “the least fortunate schools” and “Schools that no one has succeeded in”, where work is underway to prepare a time plan, monitoring the reality with its challenges and developing appropriate solutions for that.

In the field of developing education for the pre-school stage, Dr. Owais stressed that this stage is of high importance due to the fact that it lays the basic building blocks in the upbringing of generations, whether in terms of building a value system or establishing learning, noting that the development of the curriculum for this stage has been completed, and the progress in The process of training and qualifying the cadres based on their education, in addition to the expansion of the creation of kindergartens in all regions of the Kingdom, many of which are now served by kindergartens affiliated with government schools.

In the field of vocational education and training, he indicated that the Ministry formed a technical committee with expertise, experience and sufficiency to develop a plan for the development of vocational education, whose mission is to conduct a comprehensive review of the secondary vocational education system in the Ministry; In terms of showing strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and risks, a report was presented that includes proposals for achieving the royal vision that aims to develop this type of education, and to be guided by the recommendations contained in the National Strategy for Human Resources Development 2016-2025, in addition to benefiting from successful international experiences. ; In accordance with what achieves response to the requirements of Jordanian and regional work; To reach an integrated system characterized by efficiency, effectiveness and consistency with the National Qualifications Framework.

Adding that process Vocational education reform It includes studying its structure and organization at the ministry level, education directorates and vocational schools, building a development plan, reviewing the study stages and duration, in addition to qualifying and training teachers and trainers, strengthening partnership and cooperation with the private sector, studying the creation of new professional specializations and linking the outputs of vocational education and university education. In addition to the task of training in the workplace and reviewing the admission system, specializations and vocational guidance.

As for the field of Curriculum The development process is continuous and tends to get rid of the education style that focuses on memorization, and shift to teaching critical thinking, analysis and learning life skills, and the plan is moving towards developing all curricula in partnership with the National Center for Curriculum Development.

And in the field teacher training He indicated that the ministry had prepared integrated training programs, which included new teachers regarding pre-service training and in-service training for teachers, pointing to the ministry’s keenness that training should take into account the rapid development in the field of education, and that the ministry would have a greater role in preparing and implementing programs in the future, and benefiting from experiences world in this field.

As for the use of technology in the field of education, the plan is clear, as the Ministry has educational and training platforms, the implementation of extra-curricular activities, and virtual laboratories. An interactive platform that enables teachers to interact with their students, and through which help lessons will be published for secondary school students.
As for school buildings, he stressed the need for the development of schools to be in accordance with the population needs in all regions of the Kingdom, noting that the ministry’s plan includes developing 10 schools annually, building annexes, pavilions and facilities for existing buildings and maintaining what needs maintenance.
