Professor of Archeology at Al-Hussein Bin Talal University, Dr. Muhammad Al-Tarawneh, confirmed, during his speech on the “Pulse of the Country” program on the “Roya” screen, this evening, Tuesday, that no gold or coins were found at the archaeological site whose discovery was announced today. Al-Tarawneh added that the site that was discovered is one of the fishermen’s reserves, which dates back to nine thousand years BC, indicating that this site was in the Neolithic period.

He added that this site was used only by these fishermen, and was not used in later periods.

Regarding the transfer of these discoveries, Al-Tarawneh pointed out that they were transported in the last two days by cars and by sound scientific methods, explaining that the large “Abu Ghassan” artifacts weighing 160 kilograms need great caution; So this particular piece was moved after being wrapped and secured by placing it in the back seat of the car for safe transportation.

In the same context, Dr. Wael Abu Azizah of the French Institute for the Middle East revealed that 12,000 photographs were taken of this archaeological site.

For his part, Director General of the General Department of Antiquities, Dr. Fadi Balawi, explained that the term “capsule” was used to attract people to the archaeological discovery.
