The enemy gas campaign, Occupation, issued a statement today, Tuesday, accusing the decision-makers of “continuing to support the Zionist project, its settlements, army and terrorism with billions of Jordanian taxpayers’ money through the gas deal, and depriving our economy and citizens of the benefits of investing these billions locally in sovereign projects that develop our economy and ease of our debt, and provides tens of thousands of job opportunities for our citizens who suffer from the highest unemployment rates in the country’s history.”

The campaign added, “Not only that, but they put the security of energy and electricity in Jordan in the hands of the enemy, and above it (and through the declaration of intent called “water for electricity”) they put the country’s water security in its hands, instead of restoring Jordan’s wasted water in the Wadi Araba agreement. And those stolen by the enemy, and resorting to sovereign water projects.”

The campaign appealed to “all the popular forces in the country, to unite their efforts to confront these dangerous and catastrophic strategic shifts, and to assume their responsibilities in this dangerous circumstance, as soon as possible, to stop the deliberate sabotage of the Jordanian economy, stop the complete waste of taxpayer citizens’ money, and stop supporting Zionist terrorism.” Without a scruple of conscience or morals, and stopping the project of handing over Jordan and its citizens to the Zionists, and turning it into a crossing through which the arms of Zionist hegemony extend.”

Following is the text of the statement:

Under a dense cover of misleading government and parliamentary statements regarding “Palestine is Jordan’s first issue,” and that the Zionist settlement and its continuous violations in Jerusalem and other Palestinian cities and regions are condemned and denounced, and that the priority is to develop our local economy and self-reliance and provide job opportunities for our citizens. The decision, practically, practically and financially, is to support the Zionist project, its settlements, its army and terrorism with billions of Jordanian taxpayers’ money through the gas deal, and to deprive our economy and citizens of the benefits of investing these billions locally in sovereign projects that develop our economy, reduce our debt, and provide tens of thousands of job opportunities for our citizens who are suffering under The highest unemployment rates in the country’s history.

Not only that, but they put energy and electricity security in Jordan in the hands of the enemy, and above it (and through a declaration of intent called “water for electricity”) they put the country’s water security in his hand, instead of restoring Jordan’s wasted water in the “Wadi Araba” agreement, and those stolen from Before the enemy, and resorting to easily available sovereign water projects: desalinating the Red Sea water and transporting it using solar energy to all parts of Jordan, at a cost that does not exceed a fraction of the billions spent on the stolen Palestinian gas deal that we don’t need.

The saddest thing of all is that the decision-makers continue to work to transform Jordan into a crossing through which the Zionist arms pass to reach the surrounding Arab region, in particular: Syria and Lebanon, through the Arab electricity and gas network that the Zionists entered since 1/1 / 2020, the moment they start pumping the stolen gas to Jordan.

With regard to electricity, we know from the sources of the National Electricity Company in Jordan that at least 40% of the electricity in Jordan is generated from gas imported from the Zionists (1), and this is the same electricity that was recently signed a tripartite agreement to export to Lebanon via Syria with the participation of energy ministers in the three countries (2). The Jordanian Minister of Energy, Saleh Al-Kharabsheh announced a few days ago that the grid is ready and that exports will start next March (3), and we must not forget that this electricity network also includes Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Palestine (4).

As for the export of gas, the stolen gas pipeline coming from the Leviathan field in Haifa, is directly connected to the Khanasari area in Mafraq on the Arab gas pipeline coming from Egypt through Aqaba, and rising north to Syria and Lebanon (5), in addition to the Zionists exporting gas to Egypt In a deal worth $15 billion signed in 2018, two years after the signing of the gas deal with Jordan (6). Recently, Israeli Energy Minister Karen Elharar told Zionist Army Radio that the Zionist entity has no problem if the stolen gas exported to Egypt finds its way to Lebanon. The minister added verbatim: “No one can examine the gas particles and verify whether their original source is Egypt or Israel” (7). As for Amit Mor, Executive Director of the Israeli consultancy company Eco Energy, he explained in the same news that Reuters reported, that the logical path for the stolen gas to reach Lebanon would be through the gas pipeline that connects the Zionist entity with Jordan, and there, through the Arab gas pipeline, the gas goes to Lebanon via Syria (8).

With regard to mortgaging the water security of the Zionists through the so-called “water for electricity” agreement, the news leaking from Zionist and American sources indicates (contrary to the statements of Jordanian officials) that the agreement is in the process of being implemented, with the first meeting of the Zionist, Emirati and Jordanian working groups regarding it. Last month (9), the Director of the USAID Mission in Jordan, Sherry Carlin, stated that – and in the context of that agreement – “work is now underway to build a new pipeline to transport additional water from the Zionist entity to Jordan with a length of 7 kilometers and a capacity of 80 million meters cubic per year” (10).

This is taking place in the context of a significant escalation of normalization activities, and justification for them, including the participation of Zaid Al-Ayadat, Vice President of the University of Jordan and Director of its Center for Strategic Studies, in a normalization symposium next to a Zionist lecturer (11) and the transfer of a student who protested this normalization practice to investigation (12) ) instead of investigating those who have normalized with the enemy; Including the participation of a large number of Zionists (thirteen participants) in the Baja rally in southern Jordan, welcoming terrorist soldiers and colonial settlers, who are already participating in the killing, displacement and displacement of Palestinians, and threatening the security and interests of Jordan and its citizens, in important local sporting events, through this; Referring to the statements of the Speaker of the Senate, Faisal Al-Fayez, that “we have to have a bold person defending Jordan’s relationship with Israel”(13), and the visit of the governor of Aqaba, Muhammad Al-Rafa’i’ah, at the head of an official delegation to the occupied Jordanian Umm Al-Rarash (“Eilat”) to participate in a meeting with Zionist officials) 14).

Disrupting sovereignty and development, more dependence and dependence on the Zionist entity, and promoting normalization, is the clear strategic line that decision-makers in Jordan are steadfastly following, after they moved from political-diplomatic-governmental normalization, to the forced imposition of normalization on citizens, and their annexation, by force and oppression , to be linked organically with the Zionists, and actually become at their mercy, after linking electricity, water, gas and energy, which are strategic sectors and basic commodities indispensable to any citizen and sector, with the Zionist settler colonial project, and financing this project and its terrorism, aggression and settlements from the pocket of Jordanian taxpayers, against their will, and the movement From this site, to another most dangerous, it turns our country into a crossing point for extending the arms of the Zionist hegemony to the rest of the region; All this takes place despite the fact that our citizens, and all the living forces in the country, affirm categorically, daily, at every station, and in front of every event, their complete rejection of normalization with the Zionist enemy, whether in Jordanian universities, or in all other fields and sites.

Statements and speeches of condemnation, denunciation and denunciation are no longer sufficient today. Rather, in the absence of real action, they have become a form of complicity and partnership in crime. For this reason, the Jordanian national campaign to drop the gas agreement with the Zionist entity (enemy gas is occupation), which consists of a broad coalition of political parties, labor and professional unions, popular groups and movements, military retirees, women’s activities, and patriotic personalities, addresses its appeal to all the popular forces in the country. The necessity of uniting its efforts to confront these dangerous and catastrophic strategic shifts, and to assume their responsibilities in this dangerous circumstance, and as soon as possible, to stop the deliberate sabotage of the Jordanian economy, to stop the complete waste of tax-paying citizens’ money, to stop supporting Zionist terrorism without scruples of conscience or morals, and to stop the extradition project. Jordan and its citizens belong to the Zionists, and turn it into a crossing through which the arms of the Zionist hegemony extend.
