A seventy-year-old woman was killed and 5 others were seriously and moderately injured in a traffic accident that occurred on Monday evening in the city of Zarqa.

The Operations Room of the Traffic Department of the Public Security Directorate said in its daily traffic report that the accident was caused by a sudden change of lane.

The Traffic Department added that traffic stewards follow up on student transport vehicles in terms of categories, licenses and vehicle readiness, in addition to following up on joint transport vehicles that transport students in violation of the schools’ vicinity and are not licensed for this purpose.

She explained that the capital, Amman, has been witnessing active traffic since this morning, and that some of the vehicles that were stuck on the roads affected traffic.
