The Finance of Representatives recommends addressing higher education to adhere to the parallel admission rates

The Parliamentary Finance Committee continued, during its meeting today, Monday, headed by Representative Engineer Muhammad Al-Saudi, to discuss the reports of the Audit Bureau for the years 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Al-Saudi said, in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Audit Bureau, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Majali, and heads of a number of public universities, that the committee discussed violations and clarifications against the universities of Yarmouk, Al-Bayt, Al-Balqa Applied University, Al-Hussein bin Talal, and German-Jordanian universities.

He added that the committee, after listening to the views of the Audit Bureau and the responses of heads and representatives of universities, recommended to the House of Representatives a request from the government to transfer some of the violations contained in the reports of the Audit Bureau to the judiciary and transfer other violations to the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission. It also recommended the recovery of the unlawfully spent amounts and the follow-up to the formation of joint committees between universities and the Audit Bureau in some cases, in addition to addressing the Higher Education Council to exercise its powers in determining the acceptance rates of students in the parallel program in public universities.

Al-Saudi indicated that the clarifications focused on the incentives for the parallel education program in public universities paid to the academic and administrative staff, and other violations in the files of bids, purchase orders, advance accounts, trusts, workers club, and disbursement of family allowances to retirees, knowing that they receive the allowance from the Retirement Directorate and continue to manage one of the investment funds despite Abolish the investment fund system.

Al-Majali, for his part, presented clarifications related to universities, noting that the bureau had made recommendations to correct violations and recover illegally spent amounts. During the meeting, an extensive discussion took place between the attending deputies, the Audit Bureau, the presidents of Yarmouk universities, Dr. Islam Massad, Al-Hussein bin Talal, Dr. Atef Al-Kharabshe, the German-Jordanian Dr. Alaa Al-Halhouli, the Vice President of Al-Balqa Applied University, Dr. Nasser Klub, and the Vice President of Al Al-Bayt University, Dr. Omar Al-Ateen. , and a number of university stakeholders.
