Today, Sunday, Minister of Agriculture Khaled Al-Hanaifat confirmed that the fish farming sector is receiving wide attention from the ministry.

He added, during his meeting today in his office, the head of the Association of Fish and Marine Breeders, Engineer Muhammad Shaheen, that the sector enjoys the ministry’s attention and interest through the national plan for sustainable agriculture, in addition to other pioneering sectors that are witnessing a significant expansion, especially after finding financing through agricultural lending, pointing to the allocation of 10 million dinars. To grant it interest-free loans for pioneering projects, in addition to 5 million dinars for youth.

Al-Hunaifat indicated that the Ministry of Agriculture has developed an action plan for the sector that includes providing the appropriate environment for production and finding marketing solutions for the local fish product, in addition to controlling the sector and overcoming challenges to serve the local farmer.

For his part, Shaheen valued the ministry’s efforts since 2018 in supporting and developing the fish sector until it reached this positive path, indicating that the fish farming sector is looking forward to broad cooperation and continuity of partnership to overcome challenges, especially in light of the national plan for sustainable agriculture.

He believed that the plan promises to build a strong infrastructure for all sectors, especially the fish sector, which enjoys wide interest, especially among young people, noting that the ministry’s efforts have led to a significant increase in the number of projects.
