The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research clarified, this evening, Saturday, the nature of the working hours of public and private universities and colleges for the second semester.

The media spokesman for the ministry, Muhannad Al-Khatib, confirmed in a post on his Facebook page that returning to the university campus at the beginning of the second semester of the current academic year 2021/2022 will be as previously decided by the Higher Education Council.

Al-Khatib added that as of Sunday, February 27, 2022, teaching will begin in public universities and colleges, and then on 3/6 2022, teaching will begin in private universities and colleges.

He stressed that “things are reassuring, thank God, the percentage of receiving the two doses of the vaccine among faculty members, administrators and students, who number more than (377) thousand people, exceeded 97%.”

Al-Khatib indicated that “teaching will be as it was in the last first semester, with the application of the system of integrating e-learning in Jordanian higher education institutions, emphasizing that holding all mid-semester exams and final exams for all degrees, specializations and programs will be public on campus.”

He reiterated his reminder to new students of the necessity of obtaining two doses of the vaccine, as “otherwise they will not be allowed to enter the university campus in implementation of Defense Order No. (35).”
