The Ministry of Public Works and Housing announced today, Friday, the start of work within the medium emergency plan, starting from tomorrow morning, Saturday, in conjunction with the expected weather conditions that affect the Kingdom, according to information received from the Meteorological Department.

In a press statement, the ministry confirmed its readiness to deal with the expected weather conditions, and to address the observations received within 24 hours through its 98 teams distributed over the various governorates of the Kingdom.

The ministry said that its directorates and offices in various parts of the Kingdom have been circulated fully prepared to face the expected weather conditions, and periodic inspection tours have been conducted to all regions, indicating that the directors of directorates and offices working in the field have been entrusted with raising the emergency plan as needed and developments in the weather situation.

She indicated that the emergency plan focuses on ensuring the sustainability of services provided to citizens on the roads within the jurisdiction, especially the roads leading to vital facilities, stressing that mechanisms and cadres will be installed in the areas most vulnerable to being affected by the expected weather conditions to ensure that any observation is addressed immediately in a manner that ensures the sustainability of services provided to citizens.

In its circular, the ministry stressed the need for permanent and continuous coordination with the ministry’s partners to work on solving and addressing all observations immediately to maintain the sustainability of services provided to citizens, in accordance with the government approach.

Public Works called on citizens to take precautions, to stay away from torrential streams and valleys, including the Dead Sea area and the Gulf of Aqaba, and to be careful while driving on external roads due to the possibility of low horizontal visibility as a result of dust formation, especially in the Badia areas.
