Bashar Al-Hawamdeh, the president of Al-Wehdat Club, revealed that the board of directors is studying participation in the Union Shield Championship, in the reserve team.

Al-Hawamdeh attributed the reasons for this participation in the reserve team, fearing for the players of the first team, and their exposure to injuries due to the floor of Prince Mohammed Stadium in Zarqa, which is scheduled to host the championship matches.

He added that Al-Wehdat is waiting for important official participations, most notably the Asian Champions League for the second time in its history.

It is noteworthy that Al-Wehdat and the national team missed the efforts of defense star Tariq Khattab for a whole season, after he sustained an injury in the cruciate ligament area during one of the Shield Championship matches last season, which was also organized at Prince Mohammed Stadium in Zarqa, which has an industrial ground.
