Hossam Abu Farsakh, a consultant in histological and clinical diagnostics, said that the decline in the epidemiological curve of the Omicron mutant of the emerging corona virus, “as I noticed from my review of the epidemiological curves in the world and its comparison with Jordan, will start within 3 days, God willing.”
Abu Farsakh added, in a post on his Facebook page, on Friday evening, that the cases reached about 10,000 cases in the last week of the current month of February (that is, approximately two weeks from now), to increase again to 15,000 cases. Roughly a week after school starts (but it won’t hit a new mega-peak).
He continued: From my review of the decline in the epidemiological curve of Omicron in the world, it is characterized as one and a half times slower than the rise in most curves in the world; Therefore, it is expected in Jordan that the cases will reach the bottom of this wave in the last week of next March.
Farsakh indicated that “Ramadan will enter us, and we are in the best epidemiological situation for nearly two years, and the remaining cases per day will be very light, as deaths will drop to less than ten and entries to less than 90 per day.”
And he indicated that “when cases drop to less than 5,000 cases per day in this wave, the strength of immunity will increase for those who were previously infected and for those who received two doses of the vaccine than their immunity was at the top of this wave.” I expect that at that stage we will witness a great meaning to herd immunity, which we have been waiting for for two years.”
Farsakh suggested that the cases would decrease very quickly after that, and the cases recorded daily would be in the hundreds by the end of the month of Ramadan; “So I see that the worst of the latest Corona wave crisis is behind us. As well as the worst in the Corona epidemic for the world.”
He called for alleviating or canceling all precautionary measures followed, even including the (PCR) examination, and dealing with the epidemic in most of it, as its days are numbered, “and that anything we do will not greatly affect the course of the epidemic.”
