The Assistant Secretary-General for Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Ghazi Sharkas, criticized the lack of early detection programs for cancer in Jordan.

Sharkas said in a post on his Facebook page, this evening, Sunday, that the World Cancer Day has passed year after year, “and we have only one program for early detection of cancer, which is breast cancer.”

He added, “Several attempts to establish a program for early detection of colon cancer have not succeeded, even though it is the second most common cancer.”
