Intensifying inspection tours of expatriate workers according to new strategies

The head of the Parliamentary Committee on Labor, Social Development and Population, Hussein Al-Harasis, stressed the need to develop clear and applicable plans and strategies to organize the labor market, and to replace local workers with expatriates, given the difficult economic conditions.
Al-Harasis’ speech came while chairing a meeting of the committee held today, Monday, in the presence of the Minister of Labor, Nayef Esteitiya, the Ministry’s Secretary General, Farouk Al-Hadidi, and a number of specialists.
Al Harasis stressed the importance of working to replace Jordanian workers with expatriate workers, through a mechanism that does not affect the workflow in the private sector and the investments in the Kingdom.
In turn, Isteiteh indicated that inspection campaigns will be intensified, according to new strategies, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior and the Public Security Directorate, targeting all employers and expatriate workers present on the territory of the Kingdom of all nationalities in various sectors, with the aim of ensuring the extent of their commitment to decisions and laws that are in their interest. and the interests of their workers in order to address the distortions that the labor market suffers from.
