Medical experts share advice related to the coronavirus in children, as cases of the virus have increased among children in the recent period.

Jordanian doctor Mahmoud Bilal said, “The cases of infection with the Corona virus among children have been very high recently,” adding that two out of every five children who visit his clinic show symptoms of the Corona virus.

Bilal indicated that the cases were expected to increase during the winter months, and urged parents to take more care of their children, by monitoring whether the child had initial symptoms of the Corona virus such as fever, dehydration and cough, in addition to other symptoms.

He pointed out that the Omicron variant is highly transmissible and there are other respiratory diseases that spread very quickly during cold weather.

For his part, Islam Tariq, a pediatrician, said that there was a “clear and sharp rise” in cases of corona infection in children.

He added, “Most of the children I treated in the past week tested positive, or showed symptoms of corona.

According to Tariq, “Most parents believe that their children are unlikely to be infected with the virus,” stressing that: “Children who do not have medical conditions are unlikely to develop severe symptoms; They have milder clinical manifestations, but like anyone can test positive, so parents should keep this in mind.”

Tarek added that the increase was mostly observed in children aged two years and over.
