The presenter of the “Pulse of the Country” program on “Roya” channel, fellow Muhammad Al-Khalidi, presented this evening, Saturday, the story of the citizen Basil Ali, who lives in a “bus” in one of the capital Amman’s neighborhoods.

The events of Basil’s story, which were raised by the “Roya” channel, take place last January, to be followed up by the Ministry of Social Development and its specialized teams.

In this regard, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Ministry of Social Development for Development and Welfare Affairs, Mahmoud Jabour, confirmed that Basil was visited in the place where he lives, which is the “bus”, where he was secured with work, housing, food, heating and a monthly salary, by a benefactor, Zaid Al-Fayez. , who owns a special center for special education.

Jabour added: Indeed, Basil was secured with this work, which includes suitable housing and a monthly salary, which is the minimum wage of 260 dinars and food, but suddenly he left this place, returning to his place of residence on the bus, at the beginning of February.

In a telephone conversation with the program, Basil said that he left his workplace, returning to his place of residence on the bus, after one of the employees at his workplace told him that the agreed salary of 260 dinars would not be paid, which prompted him to leave.

In the same context, the philanthropist, “Zayd Al-Fayez”, confirmed that he welcomes Basil’s return to his workplace.

Explaining Basil’s case, Jabour explained that he is 44 years old, married twice, and divorced both times. He has two children, ages 24 and 23, of whom nothing is known.

He added that the location of the bus in which Basil lives, in front of it is a 3-storey building, where his three brothers and his mother live, but he is at odds with them, over the issue of the inheritance of their deceased father.

Jabour added that Basil, in his place of residence by bus, receives assistance from passersby, and that he raises a group of animals such as dogs and cats, to which many neighbors also provide food and meals.
