The security services arrested a person who appeared in a video clip throwing a Molotov cocktail at a car in the Shafa Badran area of ​​Amman, which led to its ignition, in addition to the arrest of others, including those who incited him to burn it in exchange for a sum of money.

According to the media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate, Colonel Amer Al-Sartawi, “on 31/1/2022, a report was received to the North Amman Police Directorate that a vehicle was burned by an unknown person while it was lining up in the Shafa Badran area in the capital, where the civil defense moved and worked to put out the fire and confirmed The forensic laboratory had set the fire with a petroleum substance (which was shown in a video circulated later of the incident).

Al-Sartawi added, “An investigative team from the Criminal Investigation and the Police Directorate investigated the case, and through their investigations and collection of information from the crime scene, they were able to identify a suspected person, and he was arrested and, during interrogation, he confessed that he had paid for a sum of money and at the instigation of a person who There are differences between him and the owner of the vehicle by virtue of lineage and financial disputes by setting the vehicle on fire, and the instigator was arrested and other people who helped the arsonist in committing the crime were arrested, and they will all be referred to the judiciary.”
