The spokesman for the Ministry of Education, Ahmed Al-Masa’fa, said that school students’ work hours for the second semester will be on the date set by the Council of Ministers on February 20.
According to the ministry, “the health protocol for dealing with developments in the epidemiological situation has been developed and modified by reducing the period of isolation for a person infected with the Corona virus from 13 days to 7-10 days,” according to the Kingdom.
Al-Masafa confirmed, “The infected student or teacher is isolated in his home, then the contacts are examined, and he does not return to work except when he attends a negative PCR examination.”
He pointed out that schools provide masks and sterilizers and adhere to physical distancing and everything that would provide a safe healthy environment, stressing that “if the rate of infection with the virus in one classroom or in the school reaches 10%, we transfer the division or school to distance learning, 5 days of official work, and then It goes back to face-to-face education, as it was in the first semester.”
He pointed out that vaccination campaigns for students are continuing in all 42 directorates of education throughout the Kingdom, and nearly one-fifth of the target group received the vaccine, and for administrative and teaching cadres, about 97% of the teachers received the vaccine, and in the private sector 100%.
Al-Masafa said, “There are more than 180,000 students who received the vaccine out of a million students of the target group, and these vaccinations are not compulsory and must be with the consent of the guardian.
