Egyptian nutrition expert Dr. Magdy Nazih, head of the nutritional education unit at the National Institute of Nutrition, warned against drinking cocoa with milk.
The newspaper “Al-Masry Al-Youm” quoted Dr. Magdy Nazih that drinking cocoa with milk hinders the body from absorbing the calcium in milk.
The expert said that there are foods that give rise to happiness, such as grilled corn, baked goods or desserts made of corn flour, bananas with milk, as well as cocoa but without milk.
In a related context, Dr. Nazih called for eating a meal that contains starches, proteins and a green salad that includes 5 “five-colored” varieties, stressing the need to eat fruits in their season; Emphasizing that the benefit of each fruit is only at its time, and choosing the appropriate size.
Nazih highlighted the role of anti-coagulant foods such as garlic, turmeric, chilli and water, as they prevent clots that affect some people after recovering from infection with the emerging corona virus.
In a previous study, researchers in South Korea found that healthy adults who ate thirty grams of dark chocolate a day were 85% happier than healthy adults who ate chocolate with less or no cocoa.
Analysis of the stools of the study participants showed that the improvement in mood was related to changes in the gut bacteria as a result of eating chocolate.
