Jordanian-Qatari ministerial meeting to market talented workers

A number of ministers discussed in a coordination meeting with the delegation of the Qatari Ministry of Labor during their visit to the Kingdom, headed by the Qatari Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Smaikh Al-Marri, aspects of joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The meeting, which was held at the Prime Minister’s House on the instructions of Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh, came to make greater efforts to exchange experiences with the Qatari brethren, to market Jordanian talents, and to link the “Qatar” platform with the “Sijjl” platform in Jordan, with the aim of attracting Jordanian expertise to the Qatari labor market, which came to run 20,000 Jordanians, at the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Qani, and the meeting was attended by Minister of Labor Nayef Istitieh, Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Wajih Owais, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Nayef Al-Fayez, Minister of Interior Mazen Al-Faraya, Minister of Health Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship Ahmed Hanandeh and Minister of Investment Eng. Khairy Amro and the Ministries of Youth and Social Development, as well as the Qatari ambassador to Amman, Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani.

The Minister of Labor, Nayef Istitieh, stressed that the aim of the meeting is to enhance coordination between the ministries with the Qatari brothers to maximize the benefit of the agreements signed between the two countries and to increase the number of Jordanians working in Qatar, through the marketing of qualified and trained Jordanian competencies to work in the Qatari labor market.

The meeting dealt with ways to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences between the two brotherly countries, marketing different Jordanian competencies to work in the Qatari labor market, and how Qatar can benefit from Jordanian competencies, specifically in hosting the World Cup, which will be held in Doha this year 2022.

The ministers, whose meeting came after a meeting between Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh and Qatari Minister of Labor Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Smaikh Al-Marri, reviewed the areas in which it is possible to exchange experiences between the two sides to enhance aspects of cooperation in this regard.

During the meeting, the ministers agreed with the Qatari Minister of Labor, Dr. Ali bin Saeed bin Smaikh Al-Marri, to enhance continuous communication for the benefit of the two brotherly countries and in response to the directives of the leaderships of the two countries, King Abdullah II and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

The visit of the Qatari delegation to the Kingdom comes to exchange experiences between the two sides and discuss the file of increasing employment opportunities for Jordanians in Qatar, which came at the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to employ 20,000 Jordanians to benefit from Jordanian competencies in the Qatari labor market. The visit also comes in the context of fruitful cooperation and in accordance with The agreement signed between the two countries in the field of recruiting Jordanian labor and the memorandum of technical cooperation between the two parties.
