Today, Tuesday, the South Korean team qualified for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, after winning two goals without a response against the Syrian team in the meeting hosted by the United Arab Emirates.

Thus, the South Korean team secured its official presence in the World Cup, two rounds before the end of the first group matches in the Asian qualifiers, after it managed to raise its score to 20 points at the top of the group temporarily, one point ahead of the Iranian team, which also secured earlier Qualification for the World Cup in the last round.

Iran and South Korea ensured direct qualification to the World Cup finals, while the UAE, Lebanon and Iraq are competing for the third place qualifying for the Asian supplement.

Syria’s tally remained two points from eight matches, after receiving its sixth loss.

Korea’s two goals came in the second half of the match, which was held at Rashid Stadium, through Kim Jin-soo in the 53rd minute, and Kwon Chang-hoon in the 71st minute.
