On Tuesday, two parliamentary committees will meet to discuss the two draft laws on political parties and elections, in addition to discussing recommendations regarding power outages.

According to the council’s activities schedule, the Parliamentary Legal Committee will discuss the draft political parties law 2021 and the draft election law for the parliament for the year 2021, in the presence of a number of political party secretaries.

The Energy and Mineral Resources Committee will also meet to discuss the committee’s recommendations regarding power outages during the depression.

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, said on Monday that the power outages that affected several regions in Jordan, especially the capital Amman, are “unacceptable”, after several governorates in the Kingdom witnessed heavy snowfall.

More than 80 deputies signed a memorandum to request the holding of a plenary session under the dome of Parliament to discuss power outages in governorates in central Jordan and to hold those responsible to account, according to Representative Zaid Al-Atoum on Saturday.

The head of the Parliamentary Energy and Mineral Resources Committee, Firas Al-Ajarmeh, said on Monday that the “main recommendation” that will be issued by the committee is to transfer the file of power outages in areas in Jordan, including Amman, to the judiciary.

On Monday, the House of Representatives decided to postpone its oversight session due to “lack of a quorum,” according to the “Kingdom” correspondent.

The Council confirmed that the meeting will be scheduled for a new date later.

The parliament was supposed to discuss the government’s responses to 14 questions directed by members of the House of Representatives, and it also includes a draft law referred by the government, which is an amended draft law for the restructuring of government institutions and departments for the year 2022.
