Dr. Anastasia Gavrikova, a Russian nutritionist, revealed a way to determine the deficiency of vitamin B12 in the body without the need to consult a doctor and take tests.
In an interview with the Russian RIA Novosti news agency, the expert points out that many do not appreciate the importance of vitamin B12 to maintain nerve cells in a healthy condition, improve the function of transmitting nerve impulses, and improve the work of the digestive system. Also, vitamin B12 must be present in sufficient quantities in the body of pregnant women to protect the child from neurological disorders.
According to the expert, vitamin B12 deficiency can be identified by a number of signs, foremost of which is the color of the skin, where the face of those who suffer from this vitamin deficiency will be pale with some jaundice.
She says, “Chronic weakness and feeling tired are important signs that indicate a lack of vitamin B12 in the body. Memory problems, mood swings, and red glossitis (atrophy of the mucous membrane) may indicate the same problem.”
She adds, vitamin B12 is found in liver, lean meats, poultry, fish, seafood and eggs.
