Representative Omar Al-Ayasra expressed his anger over the electricity outages that the kingdom witnessed in the last snowy depression, calling on the government to refer the case to the judiciary.

This came during a meeting held today, Monday, by the Parliamentary Energy Committee, in the presence of Energy Minister Saleh Al-Kharabsheh and the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Authority.

Al-Ayasra stressed, “What happened distorted the image of Oman, which we used to boast about its infrastructure previously,” calling at the same time to reveal the nature of the relationship of the official authorities concerned with the Electricity Company in all aspects, especially in terms of the quality of contracts and the size and control mechanisms.

While Al-Ayasra expressed his respect for the private sector and its role, he stressed that it is not exempt from accountability, specifically in circumstances such as the one witnessed in the Kingdom during the depression.
