The Independent Election Commission confirms its preparations for the municipal and provincial council elections

The Independent Election Commission confirmed the integrity, transparency and impartiality of the elections it supervises, and that there is no ability or possibility of interference from any party in its dictionary.
The Deputy Chairman of the Board of Commissioners, Dr. Zuhair Abu Faris, said during his meeting today, Sunday, with civil society institutions and popular activities in Irbid Governorate, with the participation of a member of the Board of Commissioners, Dr. Abeer Al-Dababneh, and the presence of the Chairman of the Election Committee for the Greater Irbid Municipality, Fayeq Al-Khasawneh, about the commission’s preparations for the elections. Provincial and municipal councils that the core of the work of the Commission and its essence is to protect the will of the voter and preserve it from any tampering.
Abu Fares added that the voices that talk about interference in the elections or their engineering have nothing to do with reality, stressing that the Board of Commissioners or the cadres of the Commission will not allow it to end a long and arduous work process with fraud, and will not betray the trust under any pretext or justification.
He pointed out that the past electoral benefits proved beyond any doubt that the results depend on the outputs of the boxes and the will of the voters, pointing out that the commission has financial and administrative independence, and the government has nothing to do with it except in the aspect of providing the logistical, security and human support required by the procedural stages of the electoral process, which is taking place. According to the highest standards and degrees of integrity, transparency and impartiality.
Abu Fares stressed that no one tried to interfere in the commission’s work with all the procedures related to the electoral process and influence the outcomes and results, noting that individual actions occurred that did not aim to influence the results and outputs of the funds. They were dealt with firmly, and committee chairs were dismissed accordingly, for absolutely no doubts about that.
Abu Fares explained that the elections of municipalities, local councils and decentralization scheduled for next March 22, need about 40,000 human elements to implement them easily and easily, according to the highest levels of integrity and transparency.
For her part, Al-Dababneh reviewed the achieved stages in the electoral process and the subsequent stages leading up to the polling day and the announcement of the results, noting that appeals to the voters’ lists will end within the next two days, so that the lists will become final and not be objected to.
She stressed that the upcoming municipal, local and decentralization elections is a national task that the commission is working to accomplish in cooperation and coordination with its partners. .
She indicated that we need great work and continuous effort, until the polling day and the announcement of the results, stressing that the government supports the authority in its work from the organizational, procedural, logistical and security aspects to ensure the integrity of procedures and the application of law and order.
According to al-Dababneh, the commission has completed the formation of committees and is doing their work to ensure the safety and suitability of polling centers and electronic control processes, in addition to forming supporting committees, indicating that the authority is in the process of forming polling and counting committees in each electoral center.
She said that the commission is in the process of launching a training program for those wishing to run, which includes the date of candidacy set at 3 days, which are 7, 8 and 9 next February, in addition to instructions and frameworks for electoral campaigns, financial ceilings for electoral campaigns, and financial disclosure for candidates.
She pointed out that the authority’s instructions granted 3 days for appeals to nomination applications by any person whose name is on the voters’ lists, and 3 days after that to consider and dismiss the appeals.
The meeting included a theatrical performance entitled: “Your Voice is Your Right” by the artist Hussein Tabishat and his theater group, and a heritage review of the Raf Performing Arts Troupe, which embodied the importance of participating in the elections, especially women and youth, and the role of participation in creating change and modernization.
