The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship said that activating the digital identity is not mandatory, stressing that in order to benefit from all services on the Sanad app, one must visit the Sanad stations to activate the digital identity.
And the ministry added, in a post on its official page on social networking sites today, Saturday, that activating the digital identity at “Sanad” stations is a precautionary measure to protect citizens, and a main reason to reduce the risk of personal fraud from others. She explained that once the digital identity is activated, the user will be allowed to access his digital documents, such as the driver’s license, vehicle, status card, birth certificate, and other locally approved documents, as an alternative to traditional documents, in addition to accessing personal records such as status information, licensing, education, land, property and more personal information. .
The ministry added that it is working hard to provide a mechanism to activate the digital identity remotely for citizens and expatriates, through the banking sector, where the details will be announced upon completion.
It indicated that it is working to add more Sanad stations throughout the Kingdom, noting that the sites will be updated daily according to their readiness to facilitate access to them.
It is mentioned that to find out the locations of Sanad stations, please click on the “Near Me” list in the Sanad app. – Petra
