Awqaf reveals the amount of aid to affected citizens during the depression

The Ministry of Endowments, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places confirmed that the ministry, through the directorates of endowments in the Kingdom and the Zakat Fund and Committees, worked to provide in-kind and cash assistance to the affected citizens during the prevailing weather in the Kingdom.

The ministry said in a press statement today, Friday, that the Zakat Fund provided emergency in-kind and cash aid during the past 48 hours, amounting to more than 300,000 dinars, as in-kind aid worth 200,000 dinars was distributed (blankets, greenhouses, heating fuel…), 100,000 cash, benefited Including more than 10,000 needy and affected families.

The ministry added, “The aid included needy families affected in all governorates and districts of the Kingdom in, as it was distributed through the 197 zakat committees.”

She explained that the shelter centers in a number of mosques in various governorates and districts of the Kingdom received stranded citizens, in addition to a number of arrivals, pointing out that all mosques were opened as shelters, and emergency teams were hosted by the directorates of public works, maintenance and emergency teams of electricity companies, and the basic requirements were presented.

The Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Places, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zakat Fund, Dr. Muhammad Al-Khalayleh, had directed, from the first day of entering the Kingdom, in the prevailing weather conditions, to open mosques to house the affected citizens, and to direct the Zakat Fund and its committees to work to provide assistance to needy and affected families.
