Krishan: 10 families rescued and sheltered by Shehan Municipality

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration, Tawfiq Krishan, phoned, on Wednesday evening, some members of 10 families, comprising 27 people, who were rescued and sheltered by Shehan municipality cadres, with the aim of checking on them and ensuring their safety and full care.

Krishan instructed the Chairman of the Municipal Committee, Eng. Khaled Al-Banawi, and the Executive Director of the Municipality, Engineer Ashwaq Al-Majali, to provide all facilities to members of these families, especially children, the elderly and women, stressing that these efforts made by the Ministry of Local Administration and Municipalities stem from the royal aspirations and visions, and from the government’s plan for urgent action. With emergency events during current weather conditions.

He thanked Krishan Al-Banawi, Al-Majali and the municipality staff who provided a national Jordanian touch to these families in such difficult weather conditions affecting the Kingdom.

For his part, Al-Banawi said that family members were immediately provided with the necessary needs and requirements, especially blankets, heating greenhouses and food in cooperation with the Social Development Directorate in the Qasr District, while the municipality provided milk for the children.

The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Local Administration and head of the main emergency room in the ministry, Eng. Hussein Mhaidat, had announced earlier that 124 shelter centers with a capacity of 1,500 beds were equipped in various municipalities of the Kingdom to accommodate families and families whose homes were stormed by floods and rain, in addition to Shelter citizens, guests of Jordan, and tourists who may be stranded on the roads and in various regions.
