The White House’s chief medical adviser, Anthony Fauci, said he was “as confident as possible” that Omicron cases across the United States will peak in February.

In his statement to reporters, Sunday, Fauci left the door open to the possibility of needing more doses in the future to protect against the Corona virus, according to what was reported by the American “Fortune” website.

But Fauci returned and said that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in America needed to “clearly define the duration of protection provided by the booster dose”, before adopting more doses in the future.

He added, “Currently, things are looking good… We don’t want to overconfidence, but it seems that things are going in the right direction.”

Fauci’s statement comes, while the World Health Organization said, on Sunday, that the mutant “Omicron” predicts a possible end to the Corona epidemic.

The director of the European branch of the World Health Organization, Hans Kluge, stated that Omicron launched a new phase of the epidemic, adding that this new phase “may bring the health crisis closer to the end.”

The European Medicines Agency also predicted, earlier, that the spread of the mutated Omicron, and the Covid-19 epidemic, into an endemic disease that humanity can learn to live with.

The agency expressed doubts about the administration of a fourth booster dose of vaccine, stressing that the repeated administration of doses is not a “sustainable” strategy.
