The British Board is held in Jordan for the first time

The Royal Medical Services Directorate is preparing a center to hold the British Board exam for the various specialties of general internal medicine in Jordan for the first time to become an accredited center to hold such exams.
The Director General of the Royal Medical Services, Brigadier Dr. Youssef Zureikat, said: “The idea of establishing an approved center to hold the British Board exam for the specialty of internal medicine in its branches came based on the directives of the General Command so that the Royal Medical Services would be one of the main pillars in providing a high-level medical service to the people of Jordan, in addition to easing the doctors’ burden. Jordanians will not pay the travel costs to undergo this test.”
The Assistant Director of Services for Medical Affairs and Regions and Director of the Exam in Jordan, Brigadier General Dr. Majid Al-Hababah, indicated that the importance of opening a center in the Royal Medical Services to hold the British Board exam lies in giving a greater opportunity to train and develop doctors in the United Kingdom, and building relationships in other specialties that constantly put Jordan on the global map. Medical, which reflects positively on the bright image of the Royal Medical Services internally and externally.
For his part, the Medical Director of the Royal College of Physicians, Dr. Donald, praised the credibility of the Jordanian board locally and the possibility of benefiting from some of its subjects in the college’s curricula, adding that holding the British Board exam in Jordan is an opportunity for Jordanian doctors to participate in supervising the procedures for holding the exam.
The representative of the British College of Internal Medicine/London, Major General retired doctor Alaa Al-Harsh, explained that choosing the Royal Medical Services to become an accredited center for the British Board exam came as a result of the good reputation it enjoys, indicating that the exam will be held in the future in two sessions at the center during one year, and the priority will be for Jordanian doctors. And then to neighboring countries.
It is noteworthy that the theoretical aspect of the exam was presented remotely (online) earlier, while the practical aspect of the exam will be held over the next two days for 25 doctors from the Royal Medical Services and the private health sector in Jordan.
