The British pound fell in the US market, today, Thursday, against a basket of global currencies, to give up its highest level in 7 weeks against the US dollar, in the process of incurring the first loss in the last three days.

This comes due to the activity of correction and profit-taking operations, and the strong recovery in the levels of the US currency following the minutes of the last meeting of the Federal Reserve, which enhanced the prospects of raising interest rates in the United States next March 2022, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The pound fell against the dollar by about 0.5% to $1.3490, and the opening price for today’s trading was at $1.3554, and the highest level was at $1.3557.

The single European currency “the euro” also fell during the Asian session on Wall Street, to witness its rebound for the third consecutive session in 5 sessions from its top since mid-November against the US dollar, on the cusp of developments and economic data expected today, by the economies of the euro area and the economy American.

The euro against the dollar fell by 0.02 percent to 1.1310 levels, compared to the opening levels at 1.1312, after the pair achieved its lowest level during the trading session at 1.1305, while the pair achieved its highest at 1.1321.
