A recent scientific article published in an American magazine touched on the results of several studies that provided amazing results about one of the most complex and dangerous stages that precede human death.

The article stated that some of these studies, although they are not new, as one of them was published in the scientific journal “Annals of Neurology” in 2018, provided results that are closer to reality about what happens during the biological death of the brain, which is an irreversible, irreversible stage. But one case was recorded to reverse it.

The study examined the phase of depolarization or depolarization in the human cerebral cortex and provided a better understanding of how the brain responds to energy depletion, providing for the first time a complete understanding of the electrophysiology of death that occurs after cessation of blood circulation in the human brain.

The lead author of the study, Professor at the Center for Stroke Research in Berlin, Jens Dreyer, told the American “Newsweek” magazine, that brain death, which is different from death following the cessation of blood circulation, occurs while the circulatory function continues.

He added: “For example, a severe increase in intracranial pressure can lead to brain death while blood circulation continues, however breathing and blood circulation must be artificially maintained under these conditions in the intensive care unit, since without this support, it stops Breathing immediately and circulation collapses shortly thereafter due to lack of oxygen.”

“Brain death is a form of death that is only found in the intensive care unit,” he stated.

The article pointed out that there are two new studies to be published in the scientific journal “Brain”, carried out by a team of scientists as part of a large study focusing on the depolarization stage of the brain, where scientists described for the first time the “electric wave” stage of brain death.

Dreyer said that the spread of depolarization processes, or “brain tsunami”, is by all accounts one of the largest events that affect the living brain. An enormous amount of water flows into the nerve cells, causing them to swell.

This influx can be devastating unless neurons have the energy to recover.

In addition, the study stated, “This reversible and reversible diffuse wave typically begins 2 to 5 minutes after the onset of acute ischemia, indicating the onset of a neurotoxic change that eventually leads to irreversible injury.”

The scientists made recordings by installing electrode strips or arrays in patients who had suffered severe brain damage that led to their entry into an irreversible or hopeless state that required only some palliative treatments with no opportunity for resuscitation.
