The Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, stressed the importance of the amendments to the civil health insurance system, which were approved by the Council of Ministers, yesterday, Monday, and their role in expanding the base of those covered by civil health insurance and achieving justice and equality among beneficiaries.

Al-Hawari said, in a press statement this evening, Tuesday, that the amended system of the civil health insurance system will take effect 60 days after its publication in the Official Gazette, following the issuance of the royal decree approving it.

He added that the amended system included amendments related to the beneficiaries with the mandatory contributor, according to the provisions of the civil health insurance system, including the continued benefit of single male children who have completed the age of 18, in addition to the continued benefit of male and female children who have completed 25 years of age, in exchange for the contributor paying an allowance A monthly allowance of 5 dinars if the son is not working, and 10 dinars if he is a worker. As for the working daughter, her benefit entails a monthly allowance of 5 dinars.

And he indicated that the amendments will allow the contributor to add the working husband (or wife) or the recipient of a pension in return for a monthly allowance of 10 dinars, regardless of whether the beneficiary is insured with another health insurance.
The amendments allow the contributor to add his divorced or widowed non-working sisters who do not receive a pension and who have no children, or who have male children under the age of 25.

Under the amended system, the contributor will be able to add his sisters (working women or those who receive a pension), whether they are single, divorced or widowed, who do not have male children or have male children under the age of 25, in return for paying a monthly allowance of 15 dinars.

The amendments will allow the contributor to stop the benefit of any of his family members benefiting from the insurance, and allow him to return them, in return for paying a sum of 50 dinars for the beneficiary of the first group, and in return for a sum of money estimated at the value of the monthly subscription allowance resulting from adding the beneficiaries for the entire period of suspension in the event that it was from The second group, with the stipulation that the reason for stopping the benefit for the first group (such as the non-working husband and wife and children under 18) should be the desire to obtain another health insurance.

The amended system will allow compulsorily contributors to the Civil Health Insurance Fund to request suspending the health insurance card, not issuing it or renewing it, for the purposes of obtaining other health insurance, or benefiting from a higher degree of health insurance, provided that the monthly contribution allowance stipulated in this system continues to be deducted from Subscriber.
