Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi held, today, Monday, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, comprehensive talks that focused on steps and programs implemented by the two sister kingdoms to increase cooperation in various fields, reflecting the depth of historical brotherly relations and in implementation of the directives of the two sisterly leaderships.
The two ministers stressed the centrality of the strategic relations that unite the two kingdoms and the institutionalization of the process of expanding cooperation in the economic, investment, development and environmental fields, coordination and communication on regional issues in the service of common interests and Arab and Islamic issues.
In the context of the coordination process, Safadi and Prince Faisal reviewed these developments in the region, and the efforts made to resolve regional crises and achieve security and stability in the region.
The two ministers focused on efforts to achieve a just and comprehensive peace by solving the Palestinian issue on the basis of the two-state solution in accordance with international law and the Arab Peace Initiative, in a manner that guarantees the fulfillment of all the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, especially their right to a state and freedom on the June 4, 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Safadi and Prince Faisal also discussed efforts aimed at finding a political solution to the Yemeni crisis and security in the Arab Gulf region. Safadi affirmed Jordan’s absolute support for Saudi Arabia in confronting any attack on its security and stability and condemning the terrorist Houthi attacks on its lands and security.
The two ministers discussed developments related to efforts to resolve the Syrian and Libyan crisis, support for brotherly Iraq, the situation in Afghanistan, developments in international talks with Iran on the nuclear file, the Iranian role and policies in the region, and many regional and international issues of common interest.
In a press statement after the meeting, Safadi said that he and Prince Faisal discussed ways to translate “the historical and fraternal relations that bring us together in broader cooperation in various fields, and coordination on all Arab, regional and international issues that concern us.”
He added, “And His Highness the Emir confirmed the centrality of the Jordanian-Saudi relationship and its strategy,” and that it is constantly moving towards broader horizons of cooperation and coordination under the directives of the two sisterly leaderships.
Safadi added, “Today was an opportunity to discuss the bilateral cooperation agenda in the new year. And we touched on many areas in which intensive research is now taking place among those involved in the technical sectors, and we are determined to move this cooperation to broader and deeper horizons, pointing out that the preparation and preparation for holding a meeting of the joint committee this year constitutes an opportunity to discuss in detail all issues of bilateral cooperation. .
Safadi stressed “our high appreciation for the permanent positions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting and supporting Jordan and standing by its side.” He said that the Kingdom also always stands by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, “As King Abdullah II said, our security is one, our stability is one, and our destiny is one, and we are continuing to cooperate with everything that serves our interests and Arab interests as well.” Safadi affirmed, “We absolutely condemn all terrorist attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and we are with our brothers in every step they take to protect their security and stability.”
He added that the Kingdom highly appreciates the great efforts made by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to reach a solution that ends the Yemeni crisis.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, Safadi said, “We also talked clearly about the main issue, the Palestinian issue, which the emir and I emphasized was and will remain our first central issue, and our effort is focused on finding a real political horizon that takes us towards meeting all the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people on the basis of the two-state solution. “.
Al-Safadi said that he briefed Prince Faisal on the results of the talks “that I held in Ramallah on the mandate of King Abdullah II, as well as the tripartite talks hosted by our brothers in Egypt in order to work together to find a real political horizon and to support the Palestinian brothers.” Safadi stressed: “Our position is one in this regard, and we continue to coordinate and work for that.”
Safadi added that the expanded talks included “all regional issues: the Syrian crisis, the crisis in Libya, and the situation in Iraq, and we agree in our positions and continue to work to resolve these crises and achieve security and stability.”
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Affairs said that he and the Saudi Foreign Minister agreed on the need to “intensify the Arab role in efforts to solve the region’s crises, and that we have a major role in our region, and we must have a primary role in resolving our regional issues.”
Safadi concluded, “All the welcome to His Highness and all the assurance that under the guidance of our leadership, we will continue to work together to build on these deep-rooted historical relations, and take them to broader horizons, not only with regard to our bilateral relationship, but also with regard to our coordination on regional issues.”
Referring to the candidacy of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to host the Expo 2030, he said that the Kingdom supports this candidacy, adding, “Any success achieved by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is a success for us in the Kingdom as well.”
The Saudi Foreign Minister affirmed that Jordan and Saudi Arabia have “strong historical brotherly relations based on mutual respect and cooperation in many fields, and this is confirmed by continuous communication at the leadership level and senior officials in the two countries, in order to move forward in strengthening relations and transferring them to broader horizons.”
He said that his meeting with Safadi was “productive and constructive, during which they discussed many regional and international issues and files of common interest, the most important of which is strengthening joint work and coordination in order to lay the foundations for security and stability in the Arab region and the Middle East.” The Saudi foreign minister added, “We discussed the political and security challenges facing our region, and emphasized strengthening coordination and joint consultation regarding these challenges to find peaceful solutions to them in cooperation with partners in the international community.”
He pointed out that the talks covered “opportunities to develop economic and trade relations between the two countries and ways to develop them, in light of the clear directives of the two leaderships that the economic and development aspect and the promotion of the well-being of the two peoples is the basis, which should be focused on.” He added, “There is a vision at the leadership of the two countries that there are great opportunities that have not yet been fully exploited, and we must strive to achieve them and work is underway to do so.”
On the Palestinian issue, he said, “We stressed the two countries’ support for the establishment of a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, and the cessation of all violations against the brotherly Palestinian people.”
Prince Faisal affirmed, “I appreciated in our discussion the important role played by the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in supporting the paths of supporting the Palestinian cause and supporting the brothers in Palestine to obtain their rights.” He also valued Jordan’s rejection of all the “terrorist attacks against civilian areas and objects by the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militias.”

Prince Faisal indicated that they reviewed “the recent developments in Afghanistan and the need to stand by the Afghan people during their humanitarian crisis and work to intensify international efforts and contribute to stabilizing the situation in it as soon as possible.”
During their talks, the two ministers agreed to continue communication and coordinate positions on various regional issues in a manner that serves common interests and the goal of enhancing security and stability in the region.
