Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, said on Monday that he had confirmed with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud the centrality of Jordanian-Saudi relations.
He added, during press statements at the ministry’s headquarters, that “the relations are going more broadly between the two kingdoms, and we discussed bilateral relations and touched upon many areas.”
Safadi condemned the terrorist attacks against Saudi Arabia, telling his Saudi counterpart: “We are with you in any step that is taken to protect the security of Saudi Arabia.”
He pointed out that “the position of Jordan and Saudi Arabia is clear on the Palestinian issue.”
“We talked clearly about the Palestinian issue, and we seek a real horizon for a two-state solution,” according to Safadi, noting that he briefed his Saudi counterpart on the course of his recent visit to Ramallah.
Al-Safadi affirmed Jordan’s support for Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the next Expo.
The Saudi minister said that his country commends Jordan’s support for the Palestinian brothers.
The two sides held talks to strengthen the solid brotherly relations between the two kingdoms in all fields, and to coordinate positions on regional developments and international issues of common interest.
