The Compass – The former Minister, Dr. Bassam Al-Amoush, revealed what he described as “dangerous” clauses in the agreement to sell the port of Aqaba for the benefit of the United Arab Emirates.

Al-Amoush said, during his meeting two days ago with a television program, that in 2011 during the government of former Prime Minister Marouf Al-Bakhit, Al-Bakhit formed a committee to audit corruption in Jordan, and the committee included a group of political elites in Jordan, and when the committee opened the file of selling the port of Aqaba to the Emirates It became clear to her that this agreement contained a great deal of corruption, as all its members agreed on that.

Al-Amoush referred to the “severe conditions” that the government imposed on itself, and among these conditions is that the latter undertake a complete infrastructure project for the port, and this thing costs more than 700 million dinars, knowing that the selling price to the buyer is 500 million dinars.

Dr. Al-Amoush clarified that the other condition, which is the most important, is that the state or company that bought the port has the right to sell the port in the international markets, and to any party or country that is who it is – and this is without reference to the Jordanian government in this matter.
