Today, Wednesday, the player of the national karate team, Abdullah Hammad, won the gold medal in the Asian Karate Championship, which concluded today in the Kazakh capital Almaty and witnessed the participation of about 450 male and female players representing 23 Asian countries.

Hammad managed to defeat the Iranian player Ali Meskini in the final with a score of 1-2 to win the gold in the under 60 kg weight category in the adult category.

Yesterday, Abdullah Hammad started his participation in the senior competitions by defeating Hong Kong player Chau Ka Hime 2-1 in the round of 16, and then beating Kazakh Peturiev Yerkenbeek 2-0.

Hammad continued his brilliance and succeeded in achieving his third victory in a row, and came at the expense of Kuwaiti player Abdullah Shaaban, 3-0 in the semi-finals.

The men’s team also won the bronze medal in the team combat competitions, after its victory over the Chinese Taipei team 3-1 today, and the men’s team had won the quarter-finals against the Hong Kong team 3-0 before losing to Iran and moving to play for the bronze medal.

By the end of the participation of our national teams in the Asian Karate Championship for all age groups, they have achieved 14 medals, including 3 gold, 5 silver and 6 bronze.
