On Tuesday, the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture announced the discovery of an H5N1 avian influenza outbreak in a poultry house in the occupied Syrian Golan Heights, where about 17,000 turkeys are located.
The veterinary services isolated the farm and started preparatory operations for treatment in the center of the outbreak, which means the extermination of birds.
After the outbreak, the Ministry of Health stated that the public is required to ensure that eggs are only purchased in regulated places, and those that are stamped with the inspection seal.
She also called for making sure to cook eggs and chicken well, maintaining hygiene and washing hands after touching meat or eggs.
