The Secretary-General of the National Congress Party “Zamzam”, Rahil Gharaibeh, said that the heated debate in the union community about the adoption of the principle of proportionality in electoral systems – so that seats are distributed according to the number of votes obtained by the competing lists – needs clarification and a logical dialogue away from the crowd and mobilization.
Gharaibeh wrote, in a post on his Facebook page, that the principle of proportionality is more fair, as those who receive 51% of the votes should not get all the seats, while those who get 49% of the votes are excluded.
He added, that the principle of relativism allows for better partnership and cooperation, achieves self-censorship in a more effective way, and prevents administrative and financial corruption from flourishing within the union body through collusion and turmoil provided by partisan fanaticism or political orientation.
Gharaibeh indicated that this principle was adopted in the parliamentary elections in most election laws in most countries, and is the product of an accumulating global human experience.
He continued, “I believe that members of professional unions are called to raise the profile of the supreme union interest away from factional and partisan interests and all forms of political groups.”
Gharaibeh pointed out that union work is a cooperative, participatory career path based on presenting strong and honest qualified people who are able to manage union affairs impartially, away from political or ideological color. Therefore, the interest requires searching for distinguished energies and clean hands without regard to an intellectual, religious, sectarian or regional background.
He added, “I believe that the introduction of the principle of relativism will reduce the fanaticism and polarization that dominated the union atmosphere for a long time, and all parties contributed to its consolidation and deepening.”
Gharaibeh said, “Let all competitors know that exclusivity in bearing responsibility is something that no one or party can envy in light of the problems related to pension and insurance funds in all its forms and the future of the profession that suffers from real threats.”
He stressed that unions are a house of expertise that must play their great national role in reducing the burden of housing costs and obtaining a home for all citizens, not just union members, and easing the burdens of life on people, through creativity in the transfer of global experiences, and this is what should be done in medical and agricultural matters. Legal and other trade union fields.
Gharaibeh stressed that the national issue and the national interest should be understood in an advanced civilized manner, after more than half a century of union work.
He pointed out that “the time has come to transfer conflict and competition from areas of narrow fanaticism to the horizons of broad national action and optimal investment in this great crowd of distinguished talents, experienced and specialized in all fields and fields, with the aim of contributing to the achievement of the great renaissance project.”
Gharaibeh said, “A country that contains 160,000 engineers and suffers from industrial underdevelopment, economic deficit, congestion, housing crises, traffic, traffic, streets, and the urgent need for parks and organized cities, and is devoid of beauty…a matter that calls for confusion, amazement, sorrow, and sadness at the same time…and it requires intense discussion and disagreement and the occupation of thousands.” of certificate holders.
