Oil prices rose, during trading today, Wednesday, despite fears of the repercussions of the spread of the Omicron variable and US data on oil.
US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 0.27% to $71.31 a barrel, while Brent crude futures rose 0.04% to $74.01 a barrel.
The rise came despite concerns about the repercussions of the spread of the Omicron, and US data on crude stocks in the United States, which indicated that crude oil and distillate stocks fell last week, while gasoline stocks rose.
According to sources, data from the Petroleum Institute showed a decrease in crude stocks by 3.7 million barrels, and distillate stocks decreased by 849,000 barrels.
