Karate player Hammad qualifies for the final of the Asian Championship

The national karate player Abdullah Hammad qualified, on Tuesday, for the final under 60 kg, in the Asian Championship for all age groups, which is currently being held in the Kazakh capital Almaty.

Hammad, who previously participated in the Buenos Aires 2018 Youth Olympics, will meet in the final with Iranian Ali Moskini on Wednesday at the end of the tournament.

Abdullah Hammad began his participation in the senior competitions by defeating Hong Kong player Chau Ka Hime, and then beating Kazakhstan’s Peturiev Yerkenbeek.

Hammad continued his brilliance and succeeded in achieving his third victory in a row, which came at the expense of Kuwaiti player Abdullah Shaaban in the semi-finals.

For his part, the Olympic champion, Abdul Rahman Al-Masatafa, will compete for the bronze medal in the under-67 kg competitions, as he started his participation by defeating the Kyrgyz player, Nurlanbek Oyo Kalisbek, in the round of 16.

Then he defeated the Uzbek Simatov Sadriddin in the quarter-finals before losing in the semi-finals to the Japanese player Nakano.

Al-Musatafa will meet in the bronze medal match on Wednesday with Indonesia’s Tipping.

Judd Al-Darros will also play the bronze medal, as she beat Indonesia’s Divina Dia in the quarter-finals, before losing in the semi-finals to Filipino Christine, to go on to play for the bronze medal, during which she will face the Kyrgyzstan player Aitunova.

It is noteworthy that our national teams have so far achieved 11 colorful medals, including 2 gold, 5 silver and 4 bronze, which came through the junior, youth and under-21 teams.
