The official account of the Miss World contest announced the postponement of the ceremony to announce the 70th Miss World for 2021, which was scheduled for Friday, in San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico, due to the restrictions of the Corona virus, in which representatives of 98 countries participate in the current competition, which is the lowest number in the 19 last year.

The competition officials indicated in an official statement to them that the postponement came after confirming new positive cases of coronavirus infection and after consulting with experts and representatives of the health system, the event organizers decided to postpone the final to be held within the next 90 days.

The statement said: “Miss World 2021 is temporarily postponed in Puerto Rico due to the concern of the contestants, staff, crew and the public, and the public, and the public, and the public in health and safety. The final will be rescheduled at Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose within the next 90 days.”

The statement continued, “After meeting with virologists and medical experts appointed to oversee the Miss World 2021 event and discussion with Puerto Rico’s Department of Health, the event organizers made the decision to postpone the final global broadcast… As of yesterday, additional safety measures have been implemented for the benefit of the contestants.” And the production team and spectators, for fear of increased risks on the stage and in the dressing room, but after confirming other positive cases this morning and after consulting with health officials and experts, the decision was taken to postpone.”

The 70th Miss World contest was scheduled to be held in late 2020, but the contest was postponed due to the Corona pandemic, and in March 2021, it became known that the event would take place in San Juan.
