The Independent Election Commission calls on citizens to check their names in the primary voter lists

The Independent Election Commission called on citizens to review the checking of their names in the initial voter lists for the provincial and municipal council elections, and the Amman Municipality Council, which is scheduled to be held in 2022, explaining that the electoral district for the previous parliamentary elections does not necessarily mean that it will be the same in the upcoming elections.

The authority clarified that, according to the laws, every voter who found an error in his data included in the preliminary lists of voters or found an error in determining his polling station, and for every person whose name was not included in the preliminary lists of voters, has the right to submit a written request to any civil status office and passports in the Kingdom, to correct the error in his data or to amend his polling station, or to include his name in the lists, according to the form prepared for this purpose, within 10 days from the day following the date on which the heads of the election committees presented the preliminary lists of voters.

The Independent Election Commission confirmed the possibility of using the service to inquire about the electoral district and the polling center through text messages, by sending the national number to the toll-free number (94455), and to inquire and inquire through the election call center at the toll-free number 117100, in addition to visiting the authority’s website.

Likewise, every voter whose name appears in the preliminary lists of voters has the right to object in writing to the commission, through the head of the election committee, to the registration of others in the preliminary lists of voters within the municipality / electoral district, within a period not exceeding 7 days from the day following the date of presentation of the preliminary lists to voters, and in accordance with To the conditions specified in the executive instructions for preparing voters’ lists for the provincial council elections, municipal councils and the Amman Municipality Council, along with his objection to the documents and data that support and prove the validity of his request.

The commission had published on its website and in the election committee headquarters the preliminary lists of voters, in addition to 438 places that were announced, in order for the public to view them, based on the provisions of Article 36 of the Local Administration Law No. 22 of 2021, and Article 6 of the Amman Municipality Law, No. 18 for the year 2021.
