The Algerian national football team was crowned champion of the Arab Cup, after defeating its Tunisian counterpart in the meeting that brought them together this evening, Saturday, with a score of (2-0).

The confrontation of the Algerian national team and its Tunisian counterpart had headed to the extra time after the end of the original time in a negative tie in the match held at the “Al-Bayt” stadium, in the final of the Arab Cup 2021 hosted by Qatar, and held under the auspices of FIFA for the first time in history.

Substitute Amir Said opened the scoring with a huge shot from outside the penalty area in the 99th minute, after a pass from Baghdad Bounedjah.

Veteran Yassine Brahimi added the second goal at the end of stoppage time for extra time, after he took advantage of the Tunisian goalkeeper’s exit from his own net to participate in a corner kick to bounce the ball to the Algerian player, who sped from the middle of the field towards the empty goal.

The match was held on Qatar National Day, the same day that will witness the 2022 World Cup final one year later, and under the watchful eye of FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
