The closing date for the polls in the Al-Wehdat Club elections is approaching

The turnout in the Al-Wehdat Club elections has reached 50% so far, which is currently being held in Prince Faisal Hall in King Abdullah II Sports City in Qweismeh, to choose a new administrative body for a period of 3 years.

The head of the Elections Committee of the Administrative Board of Al-Wehdat Club, Mahmoud Bani Salama, said that the voter turnout exceeded 50%, adding that the number of voters reached nearly 3,400 out of 6035 members entitled to vote.

Bani Salameh indicated that no decision has been taken regarding extending the elections until this moment, pointing out that the final time for closing the polls is half past seven.

And competing for the presidency of the club is Youssef Al-Suqour, who heads the “Al-Ahrar” bloc, and Bashar Al-Hawamdeh, who heads the “United Championships” bloc.

The Hawamdeh bloc includes: Ziad Shelbaya, Ghasab Khalil, Awad Al-Asmar, Khaled Abu Quta, Walid Al-Saudi, Hatem Abu Maalesh, Bassam Shelbaya, Abdul Rahman Al-Najjar, Muhammad Abdul Qader Dughmush and Majdi Dughmush.

The Falcons bloc includes: Iyad Al-Shamlati, Sami Dahbour, Khaled Al-Absi, Abdul Hakim Al-Sinawi, Khader Sawan, Ali Khalifa, Zaid Abu Hamid, Muhammad Dughmush, Sami Al-Sayed and Makhlid Al-Koz.

On the other hand, members of the General Assembly gathered despite the rainy weather at the city gate, to participate in the electoral process, in which polling closes at 7:30 pm, in light of expectations that the voting process will be extended.

It is noteworthy that the Al-Wehdat Club elections witnessed the presence of a number of members of the House of Representatives; The most prominent of them are Raed Rabaa Al-Zahrawi, Abdul Alyan Al-Mahsiri, Ahmed Asha Al-Dawaima, Fayez Basbous, Khaled Al-Bustanji.

The Minister of Youth, Muhammad Al-Nabulsi, had decided to extend the work of the temporary committee to manage Al-Wehdat Club, headed by Fahd Al-Bayari, for about two weeks since the end of its mandate, until the completion of the club’s board of directors elections.

The temporary administrative board received a letter from the capital’s youth director, Sanaa Abu Abbas, stipulating the extension of the work of the temporary administration, whose assignment letter expired on the 27th of last November.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Youth has appointed several temporary administrative bodies to manage the affairs of Al-Wehdat Club, since July 27, 2020, and the first, the second and a great period of the third were headed by the Minister of Transport, Wajih Azayza, while Yassin Abu Awad took over the task for the remainder of the third period, and then took over The presidency of the fourth era, Fahd Al-Bayari, who was extended to him and his administrative team to take over the task in the current fifth temporary administrative body.
