Minister of Agriculture: We seek to reach a national and comprehensive water harvesting project

Today, Tuesday, the Minister of Agriculture, Khaled Al-Hanaifat, said that water harvesting is a government priority, and not only for the agricultural sector.

Al-Hanaifat added, during his meeting today, the Director-General of the Royal Geographical Center, Colonel Engineer Muammar Kamel Haddadin, that the water challenge constitutes the biggest challenge for the agricultural sector, stressing, according to a press release, that the Ministry of Agriculture is carrying an expanded and ambitious file today that it is working on steadfastly in order to reach the harvest project. A national and comprehensive water in which the efforts of all join hands.

The minister’s words came during a meeting regarding cooperation in the field of water harvesting by providing the Ministry’s geographical center with accurate digital and topographic map data in order for the cadres of the Water Harvest Directorate to prepare the necessary studies in order to produce the best results about choosing the most appropriate sites for water harvesting facilities in all regions of the Kingdom within the lands Treasury.

It is noteworthy that efforts are being made now to expand water harvesting programs and make it a priority within the efforts of the Ministry of Agriculture in this field.
