A recent medical study revealed the importance of the blood plasma of those recovering from Covid-19 in the treatment of those who show serious symptoms of the disease.

According to the study, the results of which were published in the journal JAMA Internal Medicine, giving people with Covid-19 who suffer from strong symptoms, blood plasma collected from people who have recovered from the disease, helps treat those infected with the epidemic.

The researchers stressed the need for those with strong symptoms to be given blood plasma early in the course of the disease, that is, before they reach the stage of oxygen need in the hospital.

Also, researchers from the Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in New York City said that blood plasma treatment gives better results in patients who have not been treated with “Remdesivir” or “corticosteroids.”

The researchers indicated that the plasma collected and used to treat people with Covid-19 must contain high levels of antibodies.

In the study, which included 463 patients with Covid-19, the researchers found that 70 percent of those treated with plasma improved well compared to those who were given the placebo, UPI news agency reported.
