Green beans are one of the vegetables rich in many nutrients that many of us young and old need, as they are one of the most abundant vegetables in the winter, so many housewives resort to storing them in the freezer so that they can cook them in the summer season, but some of them do not know the right way Therefore, it is surprising when you take it out that it is not edible, so on the seventh day, Chef Rania Qassem reviews the correct way to store green beans, including the broad-edged municipal beans, and the thin beans that spread in Egypt during the winter season, as the chef identified steps that every housewife must focus on Before and during storage to keep the beans properly for a long time.
How to store green beans
At first, the chef said, we have to choose the type of beans well before we start storing, and that they are bright green and have no sludge or injuries in their branches.
Then comes the stage of washing well in running water, meaning that we open the water over it for some time, and make sure that it has been completely cleaned so that it does not contain some sediments from agricultural pesticides.
With a protective knife, remove the edges of the green beans and cut them the size of my finger tips
In a large pot, put water and let it boil well
Put the chopped green beans in boiling water, stirring, for one minute, not more
Remove the beans from the heat and put them in a colander to cool completely and get rid of all the water
Put ice cubes on it so that you can keep its bright green color as long as possible after storage
In clean plastic bags, put the right amount for one meal, not more
Put them in the freezer so that the place is clean and tidy, and do not put bags of meat or juices on them so that they are not affected by them.
