Representative Ahmed Al-Qatawneh expressed his dissatisfaction with the government’s failure to respond adequately to the questions submitted by members of the House of Representatives.
During an oversight session today, Monday, MP Al-Qatawneh deplored the failure to provide him with accurate answers to questions he asked about appointments in government-owned companies or owning part of them.
MP Al-Qatawneh said that the government, represented by the Civil Service Bureau, answered only one of the questions he asked, to the extent that what was contained in the answer was incomplete.
He emphasized that the answer provided by the government did not provide him with statements about those who were appointed under the purchase of services.
The head of the civil service responded to the interventions made by MP Al-Qatawneh, noting that most of the appointments that were made under the purchase of services were in the Ministry of Water and Irrigation.
However, this response angered Parliament Speaker Abdul Karim Al-Daghmi, considering that the appointment under the purchase of services is in violation of Article 5 of the Anti-Corruption Law.
Al-Daghmi asked the deputies to vote on referring the minister concerned with these appointments to the Anti-Corruption Department to find out about these appointments.
