Qatar qualifies for the Arab Cup semi-finals

The Qatari team qualified for the semi-finals of the Arab Cup, on Friday evening, after defeating its UAE counterpart, with a heavy score of 5/0, at Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor, in the quarter-finals of the tournament currently hosted by Qatar, and will continue until December 18.

The goals of the Qatari team were scored by Ali Salem in the 5th minute, Al-Moez Ali two goals (28, 45 +4), Boualem Khoukhi in the 36th minute, and Abdulaziz Hatem in the 36th minute.

The Qatari team will face the winner of tomorrow’s match, which brings together the Algerian team and its Moroccan counterpart, at Al Thumama Stadium.

The first half was strong and exciting on the part of the Qatar national team, who took the initiative to attack in search of an early result and put pressure on his opponent in his area.

He managed to do that in the 5th minute through a reverse goal after a mistake made by Muhannad Al-Anazi who tried to dribble Al-Moez Ali, the latter snatched the ball from him and passed it to Akram Afif, and with the late intervention of Abdullah Ramadan, who tried to remove the ball, but it collided with his colleague Ali Salem and went into the net.

After scoring the goal, the Qatari team continued its superiority and almost added the second goal, but it wasted many opportunities by its players, most notably the chance of Al-Moez in the 22nd minute, after receiving a wonderful ball in the depth from Maestro Akram Afif, and Al-Moez Ali did not deal with the opportunity as he found himself Face to face with the UAE national team goalkeeper Ali Khaseef, the latter managed to save his goal successfully.

The 27th minute, in which the match referee announced a penalty kick awarded to Annabi after a handball from Mohamed Al-Attas, was scored by Al-Moez Ali successfully in the 28th minute.

The match referee awarded a second penalty kick to the Qatari team after Al-Moez Ali was obstructed in the operations area by the UAE goalkeeper, which was successfully executed by Khoki Boualem in the 36th minute.

The UAE team collapsed after the third goal, and this made it easier for Al Annabi to add two goals, as Abdul Aziz Hatem scored the fourth goal in the 44th minute with a wonderful shot, and the fifth goal by Al Moez Ali in the 45 + 4 minute.

With the start of the second half, the Qatari attempts continued, as the preference for the owner of the land continued and he took possession of the ball in the opponent’s defense areas and threatened their goal on many occasions, but he managed to waste opportunities.

On the other hand, Ali Mabkhout missed the first opportunity for the UAE team in the 54th minute.

The playing continued between the two teams, as the UAE team sought to score the honorable goal to amend the result, but failed to achieve this.
