The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health for Epidemiology and Communicable Diseases Affairs, Dr. Raed Al-Shboul, said that the epidemiological investigation teams had identified 10 contacts of the “Omicron” patient who had no recent travel history outside Jordan.
Al-Shboul added that the teams withdrew from those in contact with the necessary tests to detect whether or not they were infected with the new mutant, pointing out that the ministry asked those in contact with quarantine at the present time until they were assured that they were not infected with the African mutant, according to “Hala News”.
Yesterday, Thursday evening, the Ministry of Health announced the registration of the first two cases of the Omicron mutant in the Kingdom.
And the Ministry of Health stated that the first infection belonged to a Jordanian person coming from South Africa, and he was directly quarantined in a hotel in Amman.
And she added, that the second injury belongs to a Jordanian citizen who has no history of traveling outside Jordan recently, and he is also quarantined in a hotel in Amman, and an epidemiological investigation is currently being conducted to find out the details of the injury.
