The “King of Fruits” can be dangerous for some

Dr. Lera Lavsky, a Russian nutrition expert, announced that the mango she calls the “king of fruits” does not advise everyone to eat it.
In an interview with the Russian RIA Novosti news agency, the expert points out that the beneficial properties of mango are many, but nonetheless it may negatively affect the health of some.
“In Asia, mangoes are called the ‘king of fruits,'” she says. “Mango is an important source of a whole range of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. 100 grams of it contains 69 mg of vitamin С, more than in lemons. Mango is considered in the season of colds.” Cold and viral infections are an important source of boosting the immune system. In addition to this, when taken regularly, it helps improve the functioning of the heart, blood vessels and eye health because it contains calcium, magnesium, iron and zinc.”
And the expert adds, it is not recommended for people who are allergic to mango or one of its components to eat it. As well as those who avoid eating fructose, because it contains a high percentage of sugar, and can cause an increase in the secretion of insulin. But these people can eat no more than 50 grams of mango per day after eating a meal.
